This page explains which cookies the Loravella online store uses, what each category is for, and how to change or withdraw your consent at any time. Last updated: 29 August 2026.
1) What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device so it can recognise your browser on the next page or the next visit. Some cookies are essential for a shop to work at all - without them a cart could not remember what you put in it. Others are optional and are only set if you agree.
2) Our consent banner
The first time you visit the Loravella online store you see a cookie banner provided by Shopify, the e-commerce platform our store runs on. Nothing but strictly necessary cookies is placed until you make a choice. You can accept all categories, refuse everything except the necessary ones, or open the preferences panel and allow individual categories.
Your choice is stored so we do not ask again on every page. You can change or withdraw it at any time - see section 5.
3) The cookie categories we use
- Functional (strictly necessary) - always active. These make the site work: keeping your shopping cart, holding your checkout session, remembering that you are logged in, and storing your cookie choice itself. They cannot be switched off and do not require consent, because the site cannot deliver the service you asked for without them. Shopify sets several of these, such as the cart, checkout and session cookies, and a login cookie if you have a customer account.
- Preferences. Remember settings you have chosen, so the site behaves the way you left it. Set only with your consent.
- Statistics. Help us count visits and see which pages are used, so we can fix what is not working. Set only with your consent.
- Marketing. Would be used to measure or target advertising. Set only with your consent.
We keep the optional categories to a minimum, and if you refuse them the shop works exactly as it does with them - you can browse, order, pay and return without accepting a single optional cookie.
4) Cookies set by others
Some cookies are set by the services we rely on rather than by us directly, for example our payment provider during checkout, which uses cookies to detect fraud and keep the payment session secure. Those are part of the strictly necessary function of taking a payment. We do not sell or share cookie data with advertising networks.
5) How to change or withdraw your consent
Use the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page, or the same link here, to reopen the consent panel at any time. Change the categories and save - the new setting takes effect immediately, and any cookies from a category you have switched off are no longer set.
You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Every major browser lets you clear existing cookies and refuse new ones under Privacy or Security. Be aware that blocking strictly necessary cookies at browser level will stop the cart and checkout from working.
6) How long cookies last
Session cookies, including the cart and checkout session, are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies, such as the record of your consent choice, remain for a defined period - your consent record is kept so that we can prove you were asked, and so we do not show you the banner on every page. You can clear all of them at any time as described above.
7) Your data rights
Where cookie data counts as personal data, it is covered by our Privacy Policy, which sets out your rights of access, correction, deletion and objection, and how to exercise them.
